I guess you could say that my life has been pretty easy. I was born into a loving, good family, who raised me and loved me and taught me. I was able to go to college. I married a good man who loves me and works hard to provide for our family. I have good health, a nice home in a safe neighborhood, my kids are healthy, and we are surrounded, and always have been, by good people. Maybe the ease of my life is what caused me to squirm when I read the following: ...We must set aside our consuming selfishness. We must rise above our love for comfort and ease, and in the very process of effort and struggle, even in our extremity, we shall become better acquainted with our God. --Gordon B. Hinckley, Ensign Nov. 1991 I think I am feeling a little selfish. One too many indulgent trips to the store. Tomorrow I will do better : )

Drop a penny in the red Salvation Army bucket on your way out the store - it does wonders for your conscience.
Just kidding. I am guilty of stickin' with my comfort zone, too. In fact, I just got off the phone with my husband, where I told him to go ahead and pick up Quizno's for dinner on his way home (in my defense I've been sick and that's all that sounds good, and I went to the grocery store to buy stuff for sub sandwiches, and it would have cost more $, so really I'm being economical, right?).
We are determined to do something this Christmas to demonstrate unselfishness, but what? We do the same thing every year, and it's not very self-sacrificing, so if you have any ideas let me know!
Lena - thanks for the good reminder!
and HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!
