Mother's Day and Pancakes

I know that I am Walker's mom, and therefore, highly biased...but, is he not the cutest kid ever? I thought these were the cutest pictures! Walker is a holding a sign that says, "I Love My Mommy!" The nursery at church put these together! I loved it! Our primary had the kids answer a questionaire about their moms. It was so fun to hear what the kids came up with!
Here's Indi's:
My mom's eye color is BLUE.
My mom is 21 feet and 20 inches tall.
My mom's real hair color is BLUE.
My mom's favorite vacation is IDAHO AND TEXAS. (smart girl!)
My mom's favorite chore is MAKING DINNER. (fooled her!)
My mom's favorite food is POTATOES AND FISH AND CUPCAKES.
My mom has been a mom for 20 HOURS.
My mom's favorite sport is BASKETBALL AND BASEBALL. (I'm so glad she hasn't noticed that I CANNOT catch a ball for the life of me!)
If my mom had a day off she would GO OUT OF THE HOUSE. (she knows me well!)
Here's Remington's:
My mom's eye color is BLUE.
My mom is 4 feet tall.
My mom's real hair color is BLONBE. (he gets his d' and b's mixed up.)
My mom's favorite vacation is IBAHO
My mom's favorite chore is BIMER (most of us call this meal Dinner!)
My mom's favorite food is PANSAKE (the funny thing is that I don't usually like pancakes and I made them today for the first time that I can remember--which is after he wrote this up!)
My mom has been a mom for 5 years.
My mom's favorite sport is TEMIS. (don't know where he came up with that--we don't even own a tennis racket!)
If my mom had a day off she would CHOP. (aka--shop! Smart fellow!)
It was fun to see what they came up with! They are such fun kids!
AND, in case anyone is interested, the pancakes that I made this morning were really yummy and super healthy!! These are not for the light of heart or stomach. They were really heavy and super filling. AND, if your kids don't like nuts, definitely omit them--they do not hide well!

Pecan-Oatmeal Pancakes

INGREDIENTS
· 1 1/2 cups quick-cooking oats (I used old fashioned, steele cut, and I ground my up in the blender!)
· 1 cup all-purpose flour (I used whole wheat)
· 2 tablespoons brown sugar (I used splenda)
· 2 teaspoons baking powder
· 1/4 teaspoon salt
· 1 1/2 cups milk
· 2 eggs, lightly beaten
· 2 tablespoons butter or margarine, melted
· 1/2 cup chopped pecans
DIRECTIONS
1. In a bowl, combine oats, flour, brown sugar, baking powder and salt. Combine milk, eggs and butter; stir into dry ingredients just until blended. Fold in pecans. Pour batter by 1/4 cupfuls onto a lightly greased hot griddle; turn when bubbles form on top of pancakes. Cook until second side is golden brown.
We topped with whipped cream and mashed up raspberries slightly sweetened! the kids gobbled these up!

Thanks for sharing the yummy pancake recipe. Can't wait to try it!

I loved those nursery pics and questionnaires also. I laughed and cried all at the same time when I read Andrew's. First one and all.

Hey Lena! Miss you here in Austin. So those answers are hilarious. Kids say the funniest things. And I'm going to have to try that recipe for sure.
