Thankful and 7 things

So...I told my friend Lucy that I would do a blog about what I am thankful for...but never got to it, and now I find out that I am supposed to do a blog with 7 things about me. So, here is a combination of the two!

#1--I am thankful for my husband.

The man causes some serious laughage in my life--which I love! He treats me far better than I deserve, he is an awesome dad, and, for sure, my best friend!

#2--I am thankful for my kids

Each one is so unique and adds so much to our family. And, they are so loving and forgiving towards me! I La-la-LOVE them!

#3--I am thankful for my religion and faith.

Because I know that God loves me and that he cares about the daily and minute dealings of my life, I can let go of the fears and worries that sometimes try to overwhelm me.

#4--I am thankful for modern medicine. It saved me when I was younger, and now as an adult, I am thankful for it every day as a enjoy a very active and full life in spite of major health obstacles.

#5--I am thankful for extended family.

Their love and support for our family means so much! Every time they wrap their arms around one of my kids, I am so grateful they are a part of our lives.

#6--I am thankful for friends. I started to pick out some pictures and then realized how impossible it would be to try to include everyone! All you friends out there--Thanks for overlooking my gazillion faults and for loving me for who I am (the crazy-psycho-slightly disfunctional person that I am!)

#7--I am thankful for our home. I love where we live. I love the room to roam for the kids, and the great people around us. I love the slower lifestyle and the quietness of our street. It is a great place to live!!

Love you, too!!!

I assume, of course, that by extended family you mean ME. I know I'm thankful for you - it does my heart good to have people around me who believe the same as I do, and who are strong, good women...even if it's only via the web.

And certainly, close to #1 and 2 is your FAVORITE sister! But that is just obvious, so you of course you didn't have to put that! :)
I love you lots! Thanks for your good example!

Hi Lena! I saw your Christmas letter to Lowell and Susan and was happy to learn you have a blog. And, by the way, what a great post!

I got your Christmas card the other day - so cute! I have it displayed with my other Christmas cards (on my back door), because I keep them up for months - I love to see everyone's shiny, smiley faces on my way out the door every day!

Lena,
Great post, but even greater Christmas picture card and letter that I just received. It made my day... how fun to hear from you!! I'm glad I found your blog and wish I had one to update you on me. This Friday, I'm playing with my sister at the library / Riparian preserve park at 11:30. Come if you can, and don't worry if you can't. What a lucky break it was for me to find you as a friend!
Love,
Carrie

Your gratitude inspires me. Every thought spun my mind off in all the ways my heart was grateful in those same ways and then in my own specific ways. Gratitude blesses us exponentially. Your grateful heart shows in your generous spirit and ability to see the Lord's hand in your life. Oh Lena, I am so very, very grateful for YOU! For you as a person, a wonderfully bright aware, energetic thoughtful giving creative spiritually intune, sensitive person...who is also the fun loving wife and inspiration to our son and empowering, nurturing and unconditionally loving mother to our grandchildren. And your are my friend. How blessed I am. Just wished you were closer. Thank goodness for blogs, Facebook, email, phones, memory books, letters and airplanes!!!!!
