Did we scare you? I scare myself! My tummy is real, Ry's is fake! We dressed for a little halloween party on Friday night and Ryan really got into his character. He would lift his shirt and scratch his belly, toss his "mane" over his shoulder--he played the part quite well, minus the expletives.
The kids got these glasses at our ward halloween party and it was their FAVORITE prize! They all became "Dr. Whoever comes out of my mouth first" for the evening.
Indi and Walker at our ward party. Indi was Snow White (against her will--she would have rather been just about anything other than a princess, crazy how little opinions change over just a few short weeks.) and Walker was a pirate. My mom made his and Rem's costume. Hallelujah--thank you mom! Saved some time and money for me!
Remington did his own beard and mustachio on halloween night. As you can tell, he did a great job with the PERMANENT MARKER!!!! Yeah, a PERMANENT marker. It did mostly come off after about 20 minutes of scrubbing. His face still looked a little dirty on Sunday, but I was afraid to scrub his skin anymore, didn't want the skin to scrub off.
I SHOULD have taken a picture of the MOTHER LOAD our kids came home with! They returned with overflowing goodness--every mother's nightmare. Ryan was determined to stick with tradition and "buy" the kid's candy from them. Pretty much, he pays them pennies for the small bars and candies, and more for the bigger stuff. Our kids love it cuz they get rich. They can choose what to sell and what to keep--and we end up with lots of candy that we should give away, but don't, because we would rather eat it ourselves! Next year, I vow to just let the kids eat their own candy--they can afford the calories, I can't.

Love your costumes! I can see Ryan having fun with that one! Your bellie is cute. That's a great idea to buy the candy! Maybe we'll try that one. Now I just let them have some the first week, then put it up in a brown paper bag and hope that they will forget about.
Aw, come on, Lena --- you scrawny little thing can put up with ANY calorie coming your way! :-)
Rem really did a good job on his beard and I bet, you did the best job on getting it off again -- how the heck did he get ahold of the permanent marker?! :-D
Super pics, Lena -- thanks for sharing!
First of all yeah vacation!!!! The costumes crack me up. I love how spirited you and Ryan are. Oh Rem and the permanent marker. Thank goodness it is less than permanent on skin :)
How fun! We are too big of party poopers to ever dress up. Plus, we're not imaginative. One of my cousins is due any day now, and she and her husband went as Juno and Pauly Bleeker. She carried around a jug of Sunny D all night. I thought it was very clever. Now I'm a little tempted to be pregnant next Halloween just for the costuming opportunities.
Just kidding.
You guys look great as white trash. love it.
Great idea with the buying system. My kids are still young enough that I control when the get to eat theirs, which means I steal theirs too. But the penny thing is a good idea.
Dude. Holy awesome costumes Lena and Ryan!!! Wee-woo!!! Mama likey :) You guys make me laugh to no end. And Nolan is REALLY jealous of Ryan's mullet/handlebar stache.
And way to rake in the Halloween cnady/money Rem, Indi & Walker...that's what I am talking about!!!
PS--I hope you had a good birthday Lena :)
haha! i love it. i love it ALL!!! You and Ry rocked those costumes :) And the kids looked adorable! Adam and I laughed out loud when we read about Rem and his marker incident...awesome. =)
Thank heavens you guys clean up so well! And I had to chuckle about Rem's enthusiastic contribution. this will probably give him a moment or two pause when he contemplates a permanent tatoo. Removing 'permanent' is just no fun! :)
